As we enter 2026, law enforcement continues to face evolving challenges that demand reliable, purpose-built tools. Effective technology tools are not a convenience—they are essential. That is why IntelScope | GangScope continues to evolve alongside the professionals who depend on it. Looking back at 2025, our team delivered several high-impact enhancements focused on strengthening investigative tasks, and improving usability.   A key emphasis was improving how investigative data is captured and structured within IntelScope, enabling clearer event and data relationships, stronger analysis tools, which will lead to better-informed decisions.  Each of these updates reflect our ongoing commitment to providing dependable, effective technology tools for modern law enforcement operations.

We will highlight 2 enhancements in this article:

I. Upgraded “Add GI” Tool.  (All information is entered into IntelScope through the “Add GI” tool.)

II. Advance Search Tool

I. UPGRADED INPUT PROCESSES – ADD GI

As mentioned above, all information that is entered into IntelScope must be entered as a new “GI”.   This allows the capture of specific detailed information that can be verified, approved and logged appropriately.   The previous “Add GI” tool had been in existence since day one.  It had seen some updates through the years but in 2025 the team re-envisioned and enhanced the tool to provide more data validation and better entry workflows while improving the technology of the processes and the integrity and usability of the data that was being entered.

Add GI – Enhanced Incident Location Verification:

When entering a Location address for an Incident, the system was improved to provide enhanced address verification tools.  When an address is added, if that location address does not already exists in the system, the system requires Validation.  Address validation  requires a “GeoCode Lookup” using an external online database to pinpoint the exact and valid address.  This ensures accurate data of real addresses which ultimately allow the system to create dynamic visual mapping similar to the yellow highlighted map on the above screen shot.   

Add GI – Enhanced Member Search:

When selecting a person to attached to an Incident (GI), an improved search tool was implemented that allows for multiple filters to be added to narrow down the available selection. 

Add GI – Enhanced Qualifier Tab:

When entering qualifier information for a person added to the GI, the system has easy toggle switches plus an added text input field to include qualifier specific notes.   The Qualifier tab also displays all other qualifiers already met by this person with a date and link to the GI when that qualifier was met.

Add GI -Enhanced Characteristics Tab:

When entering or viewing characteristic information for a person which was added to the GI, the system was enhanced to easily view the characteristics already identified for the person.  Characteristic information including photos, descriptions, body locations and GI links are easily viewed.  Adding a new characteristic was also enhanced with an easy pop-up dialogue that allows the ability to drag & drop photos to be uploaded and required fields highlighted in red.

Add GI – Other GI enhancements:

• New Internal Notes tab. Internal notes are searchable but not printed on copies of GI (HotShot, CourtDoc or Print PDF)
• New Member (person) Pop-up.  Quickly add a person to the system with a minimal of Last Name or Alias input.
• Enhanced File Upload.  Easily Drag & Drop file(s) tool is used in multiple locations including when adding Person characteristics photos, GI photos and GI files, Vehicles photos, Person Mug shots etc.
• Many other enhancements smaller enhancements helping create a easier “Add GI” tool

II  UPGRADED ADVANCE SEARCH TOOL

A strong search tools plays critical roles in modern investigative work. By allowing investigators to quickly locate and correlate people, vehicles, locations, and incidents (GIs) across large volumes of data, a well-designed search tool reduces time spent navigating data and increases time spent analyzing information and advancing investigative work.

The new highly interactive and flexible Search tool is a game changer for investigations.

The search tool allows multiple “rules” to be added to help filter your search data.  Build a refined search by adding 1, 2, 3 or more search “rules”.  Rules can be quickly added or removed as you see the search results on the right

A well-designed and high-functioning search tool improves efficiency by giving personnel fast access to accurate, actionable information when it is needed most. This supports timely investigative actions and better coordination across units.
